MediaLiteracy.com

The mission of MediaLiteracy.com is to increase awareness of the need for media literacy and of the many resources available for teaching it. Follow the links on this site (or use our search function to search the top media literacy sites on the web) and you'll find some of the best material out there.

Our Media Literacy Speakers Bureau is the only "one-stop shopping center" on the Web for finding media literacy speakers, consultants, trainers and other experts in the field. Search easily by topic or type of presentation.

We specialize in links organized in unique and useful ways (such as free printer-friendly downloads and media literacy statistics organized by topic area). Find thoughtful quotes on media's role in our lives and why media literacy education is so important.

This site focuses on media literacy in the United States because, even though the U.S. responsible for producing most of the media products distributed around the globe, millions of Americans have never heard of media literacy. Learn why America is so far behind in teaching about media, and check out these international media literacy education websites to see how advanced many other countries are in helping their children learn to navigate a world of powerful images and sounds.

I consider myself a steward of this "gateway" internet domain for media literacy, and there is a limit to what one person can do. I am open to inquiries from educational organizations and institutions that might be interested in working with me to improve this site's ability to provide relevant information on this most critical of educational topics.

Thank you for visiting and please let us know how we can serve your interest in media literacy education.
