Religion and media is the one topic for which we've found few downloads online. If you find handouts or other materials on religion and media that we can link to from this page, please let us know.

An excellent Media Empowerment Organizing Manual is available in both English and Spanish from the United Church of Christ's Media Empowerment Project. The manual is "a resource for communities interested in organizing around media. It provides: a framework for understanding why media matters and how different aspects of media are related; useful facts and statistics; stories of successful grassroots campaigns; and a chapter of resources on different tactics and skills for organizing around media." Individual chapters may be downloaded, or the entire manual.

A few lesson plans are available for viewing on the site of The Electronic Great Awakening, the official home of media literacy for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

The Pew Research Center studies attitudes toward the press, politics and public policy issues. They do excellent, impartial research. Look for these reports, indexed by date.
